Pentagon: Two Paris Attack 'Facilitators' Among Three IS Killed In Syria Air strike

The Pentagon says a U.S.-led coalition drone strike in Syria has killed three Islamic State (IS) militant leaders involved in plotting foreign attacks -- including two men who helped facilitate the 2015 attacks in Paris.

Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said on December 13 that the three were "working together to plot and facilitate attacks against Western targets at the time of the strike."

Cook said they were killed while riding in a vehicle together in the IS stronghold of Raqqa, Syria, on December 4.

Cook said two of those killed -- French citizen Salah-Eddine Gourmat and Belgian citizen Sammy Djedou -- had been involved in facilitating the November 13, 2015 Paris attacks that killed 130 people.

He said the third militant killed was Walid Hamman, a Frenchman who was a suicide-attack planner and was convicted in absentia in Belgium for a terror plot that was disrupted in 2015.
