Three Pakistani TV Workers Killed

 January 18, 2014
Three men working for a TV station in Pakistan have been shot dead.

Police say gunmen on motorcycles killed the three employees of Express TV on January 17 in the southern city of Karachi.

The Taliban said it was behind the attack.

Former Taliban spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told Express TV it had been attacked because the Taliban considered its coverage biased and the Taliban would continue to attack journalists they disagreed with.

Express TV was attacked twice last year and several employees were injured.

The Committee to Protect Journalists says five journalists were killed in 2013 in Pakistan, making it the fourth-deadliest country in the world for journalists.
