At Least 24 Injured In Suicide Attack In Southern Afghanistan

February 24, 2011
Afghan authorities say at least 24 people were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives in a busy market in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar.

Interior Ministry spokesman Zamarai Bashari said the bombing occurred in the town of Spin Boldak, close to the Pakistani border.

The attack is the latest in a string of suicide blasts to hit Afghanistan -- in the last three weeks more than 100 people have died in such attacks.
