Article 144. Illegal Gathering and Dissemination of Information on Private Life

(1) Illegal gathering for the purpose of disseminating of information on a private life that
constitutes the personal or family secret of another person, without his/her consent, or
the dissemination of such information in a public statement, artistic work, or in the
mass media, if such acts are committed for mercenary or other personal considerations
and infringed on the rights and legal interests of citizens, shall be punished by a fine in
the amount of two hundred to five hundred minimum wages, or correctional work for
up to one year, or detention for up to four months.
(2) The same acts committed by a person using his/her official position shall be punished
by a fine in the amount of five hundred to eight hundred minimum wages, or
correctional work for up to two years, or detention for up to six months with
deprivation of the right to hold certain offices or engage in certain activity for up to five
years.

Article 145. Disclosure of a Medical Secret (RT CC)

(1) The disclosure by a medical, pharmaceutical, or other employee without professional or
official necessity of information on the illness or medical examination results of a
patient shall be punished by deprivation of the right to hold certain offices or engage in
certain activity for up to two years or by detention for up to four months.
(2) The same acts consisting of reporting information about the fact that a person is HIVinfected
shall be punished by imprisonment for up to two years with deprivation of the
right to hold certain offices or engage in certain activity for the same term.
(3) Acts envisaged in parts one and two of this article, if they entail grave consequences,
shall be punished by imprisonment of two to five years with deprivation of the right to
hold certain offices or engage in certain activity for the same term.

Article 311 Divulging State Secret

(1) The disclosure of information constituting a state secret by the person to whom it was
entrusted or became known in the line of professional activities, if such information
became the property of other persons, in the absence of signs of high treason, shall be
punished by restriction of freedom for up to three years, or detention for four to six
months, or imprisonment for up to three years with deprivation of the right to hold
certain offices or engage in certain activity for up to three years.
(2) The same act entailing grave consequences shall be punished by imprisonment for five
to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain offices or engage in certain
activity for up to five years.
