Organization called Eleftheria; relationship with the Partia Bashkimi për të Drejtat e Njeriut (Human Rights Union Party, HRUP/PBDNj) after the latter's alliance with the ruling coalition; treatment by authorities and society [ALB42092.E]

The word eleftheria (elefteria) is translated from Greek to mean freedom (Cyprus News Agency 13 Mar. 2003) or liberty (Frommer's Oct. 2003). Both "freedom" and "liberty" translate to liri in Albanian (Qili 2 Dec. 2003; Ectaco 2 Dec. 2003). The Research Directorate was unable to find references to a political organization called "Eleftheria," or its Albanian or English translations among the sources consulted.

Reports of divisions in the Human Rights Union Party (HRUP/PBDNj) as a result of its association with the ruling coalition were not found.
