Information on a 1994 coalition between Reza Pahlavi II and Dr. Manouchehr Ganji (Gangi), a former Minister of Education in the Shah's government [IRN25729.E]

A representative of the Secretariat of His Majesty Reza II, Shah of Iran, in Falls Church, Virginia, provided the following information during a telephone interview on 5 December 1996.

Reza Pahlavi II and Dr. Ganji did not enter into a coalition or create an organization in 1994. All individuals who have political activities against the current government of Iran could meet Reza Pahlavi II whenever there is a necessity. Within this context, Dr. Ganji requested to meet his majesty in 1994, and was given permission. Dr. Ganji has been active in human rights affairs pertaining to Iran. Such activities have been supported by Reza Pahlavi and will be supported as long as they continue.
