Information on Yanatani Netanejatiu, also known as Jonathan Tikkun Banda, professor and author, whose work was published in South Africa, Zambia and Tanzania by human rights organizations. His father is Aleke Banda [MWI12690]

Information on Jonathan Tikkun Banda could not be found among the sources currently available to the DIRB. However, an article in the Index on Censorship of 3 June 1985 mentions a Malawian writer by the name of Innocent O.H. Banda, who reportedly lives in exile in Zimbabwe. It is not clear from the literature whether this person is Jonathan Tikkun Banda described above or even whether he is the son of Aleke Banda. According to an article published in the Ottawa Citizen (5 May 1992), Aleke Banda is a prominent political prisoner who was arrested in 1980 for critising the government of President Banda (no relation to Aleke Banda). This article does not mention Jonathan Tikkun Banda.
