However, a report entitled "353 Acts of Protests in 105 Cities in 7 Months" that was published in the August 2000 issue of The Lion and Sun, a publication of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCR) which is based in Auvers-sur-Oise, France, states that, according to reports from the Mojahedin Command inside Iran, 353 "acts of protests" which included "eight major uprisings, dozens of antigovernment demonstrations, several dozen workers' and students' strikes and scores of sit-ins" have taken place in 105 cities in Iran from January to the end of July 2000. The report also states that these protests were violently repressed by the Revolutionaly Guards, the State Security Forces and agents from the Ministry of Intelligence (NCR Aug. 2000). Kazeroun was among the cities affected by these protests (ibid.).

No additional information on these protests could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
