According to the manager of COSTI, Centre
for Italian Scholastic and Technical Organizations located in
Toronto, elementary school students uniforms are white shirts and
green\blue pants for boys and white blouses and green\blue skirts
for girls. For intermediate school students, the uniforms consist
of yellow shirts and khaki pants for the boys and yellow blouses
and khaki skirts for the girls. Secondary school students wear
white shirts and blouses and khaki pants and skirts. [

The ex-Acting Director General for Higher
Education in Somalia presently residing in Ottawa, corroborates the
above information, stating that elementary school uniforms consist
of white shirts and blouses and blue skirts and pants. He also
reports that intermediate and secondary school female students may
wear pants or skirts. [ As stated by the ex-Acting Director General

The president of the North Somali
Association of Quebec reports that elementary school student
uniforms consist of white shirts and blue pants for boys and white
blouses and blue skirts for girls. He corroborates with the above
sources regarding intermediate school uniforms but states that
secondary school students do not have any uniforms. [ As stated by

The Information Officer at the Somali
Embassy in Ottawa corroborates the information presented by the
manager of COSTI, but states that elementary school uniforms are
white and green. [ As stated by a Somali Embassy Official in Ottawa
during a telephone interview with the IRBDC on 10 May 1990.]
The manager of COSTI further states that
some female secondary school students wear long white dresses.
