Document #1228386
IRB – Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (Author)
In a 5 June 1997 telephone interview, a
representative from the Economics Department of the National
Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) stated that he was not aware
of any political party or organization named the National
Autonomous Economist Party of Mexico (PENAM, Partido Economista
Nacional Autonomal de Mexico) and that no such party was affiliated
to either the students or the faculty of the Economics Department
of the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum.
