A Turkish youth group called "Daglar Gencierindir" or "Final Intikamdir Intiram", including whether the group has links to the Islamic Revenge Organization (1997-1999) [TUR31839.E]

No mention of a Turkish youth group called "Daglar Gencierindir" or "Final Intikamdir Intiram" could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. In a letter to the Research Directorate an Istanbul-based correspondent with Middle East International stated:

I have never heard of any of these groups, but Turkey produces plenty of militant groups, which often split into tiny cells. It seems that every time there is a violent incident, a different group seems to be claiming responsibility. ... The Islamist group that is most often mentioned is IBDA-C [Islamic Great Eastern Raiders Front] (19 May 1999).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
