Sources consulted by the DIRB do not
provide information on the "Arab People's Movement" under the
leadership of Mohammad Taber al-e Shobeyr Khaghani. However, the
attached 15 May 1979 Associated Press report, which refers to the
"Arab People of Iran", might be useful.
The other attached articles, which provide
information on Ayatollah/Sheikh Mohammad Taher al-Shobeir Khaghani
in 1979, refer to him as the leader or spiritual leader of Iranian
Arabs of Khuzestan Province.
Responses to Information Requests IRN2530
of 7 November 1989 and IRN3488 of 18 January 1990 provide
additional information on Khaghani.
