The Justice System of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Lawyers
Committee for Human Rights 1993, 36-39) provide information on the
above subject. In addition, please find attached Response to
Information Request IRN14461 of 16 June 1993 on the 1991 merger of
the police, the gendarmerie and the Komiteh (committees) into a
single force called the Law Enforcement Force. Further information
on this subject is contained in Response to Information Request
IRN16103.E of 23 December 1993, which is available at your Regional
Documentation Centre.
