Results of the recent municipal elections in Pakistan [PAK38790.E]

According to information contained on the Website of the National Reconstruction Bureau (NRB), Government of Pakistan, local government elections took place in five scheduled phases in a total of 96 districts (n.d.a), including the designated city districts of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta (NRB 30 June 2001, p. 9; ibid. 2000), between December 2000 and August 2001 (ibid. n.d.a).

The following list, derived from information contained on NRB's Website, provides the names of the elected Nazims, or directors (Nawa-i-Waqt 16 Aug. 2000), and Naib Nazim, vice directors (ibid.), for the designated city districts of Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta.
