Current information on the National Convention Party could not be found among the sources consulted by the DIRB. The following information may be useful, however.

Political activity in the Gambia has been banned since the current military government seized power in 1994 (Europa 1995, 1272). No information was found to indicate that the ban on political activity in the Gambia has been lifted.

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
