Information on any recent amendments to the Turkish Armed Forces Regulations with respect to forced resignations of officers who have married foreign nationals [TUR14513]
According to a representative of the Military Attaché of
the Embassy of Turkey in Ottawa, Article 926, Section 112(2) of the
Turkish Armed Forces Regulations, which prohibited military
personnel from marrying foreign nationals, was "completely" changed
two or three years ago; as a result, military personnel may now
marry foreign nationals (29 June 1993). The text of the amended
article is currently unavailable to the DIRB.
