No information on the procedures or directives a physician must follow when dealing with a female rape victim or whether a doctor is obligated to report the rape to the police could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
Repeated attempts to contact the Administrator of the General Hospital in Colombo were unsuccessful within the constraints of this Response. Additionally, requests for information sent by both mail and fax were unanswered.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints.
