According to a representative of the High
Commission of Malaysia, a child born abroad of a Malaysian father
and a foreign mother will receive the nationality of his father
only if he is registered in a Malaysian diplomatic mission before
he reaches the age of one year (12 May 1993). Any attempt to
acquire Malaysian citizenship beyond that age could involve a
lengthly process (Ibid.).
No additional and/or corroborating
information on this topic is currently available to the DIRB in
Ottawa.
