Information on any demonstrations staged by the Medical and Health Workers' Union is scarce among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.

Only the attached 2 February 1993 Xinhua report states that a strike was organized by five workers unions in the health sector to "press for an extension of a 45 percent interim salary increase to health workers.".
