A copy of the Slovak Republic Penal Code could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate within the time constraints of this request.
However, please find attached a copy of the Slovakia entry entitled "Human Rights and Violence Against Women" included in the International Helsinki Federation for Human Rights' publication A Perspective on Women's Human Rights. It provides information regarding the Slovak legal system and violence against women, including related provisions from the Penal Code (Mar. 2000).
Information on subsequent changes or amendments to the legal provisions described in the report could not be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
