In a 2 May 1997 telephone interview, the administrative secretary of the faculty of engineering on wood technology (Faculdad de Ingeniería de la Technología de la Madera) of the San Nicolas of Hidalgo Michoacan University (Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo) since 1991 stated that he was unaware of the existence of a student association operating within his faculty. The source stated that an association of professional wood technology engineers existed but was independent of the faculty (ibid.).
