Update to ISR21642.E of 18 August 1995 on the Institute for Immigrant Integration and Cross-Cultural Studies [ISR41564.E]

According to the former Director of the Institute for Immigrant Integration and Cross Cultural Studies (IIICCS), the Institute was incorporated into the International Center for the Enhancement of Learning Potential (ICELP) in Jerusalem as the Cross Cultural Project (ICELP 18 May 2003). The former Director of IIICCS is currently the Director of Research for the ICELP (New Horizons for Learning Spring 2003) and head of the Cross Cultural Project (ICELP 18 May 2003).

The Research Directorate was unable to obtain a description of the services provided by the Cross Cultural Project among the sources consulted. The ICELP provides "assessment, rehabilitation, and learning enhancement services on a contractual basis" and cognitive assessments and educational services to families and children that are referred to it "by parents, educators, clinical and treatment centers in Israel and abroad" (ICELP n.d.). Describing its role as "expanding the psychological and educational work with children in need," the ICELP's BENEHEV Institute provides approximately 1,000 to 1,500 free cognitive assessments of children each year (ibid.).

This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of additional sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
