Orders issued from the Inspector General of Police to the Zanzibar police to cease detaining, arresting and harassing Civic United Front (CUF) members and suspected supporters; whether orders are still issued; form of orders and what they say (August 2000) [TZA34944.E]

Country Reports 1999 writes that, despite orders from the Inspector General of Police, police in Zanzibar continued to harass, detain and arrest "members and suspected supporters" of the CUF (25 Feb. 2000, Section 1). No information on whether these orders are still being issued could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate.
