Information on whether Salvadorans require passports to travel to Guatemala [SLV18384.E]

According to a representative of the Embassy of the Republic of El Salvador in Ottawa, citizens of El Salvador do not require passports to travel to Guatemala; only Salvadoran identification cards (Cédula de Identificación Personal) are necessary (12 Sept. 1994). This information was corroborated by the attached press reports.
