According to an article on Soviet
integration in Israel,
Larissa, 38, [...], worked as a construction engineer in Moscow
[...]. When she finally found a job in her field, she was offered a
salary of $600.00 U.S. a month, half of what she heard Israelis
beginning such work would earn (Los Angeles Times 8 Apr.
1991).
