Information on the AIADMK Party now in Tamil Nadu can be found in Alan J. Day, ed. 1988. Political Parties of the World. 3rd ed. Burnt Mill, Essex: Longman Group Ltd., pp. 265-66, available in the Resource Centre in Montréal.

The AIADMK is described as the "local ally" of the Congress Party in Tamil Nadu by the Far Eastern Economic Review (27 June 1991, 10). Also, according to the Far Eastern Economic Review (13 June 1991):
In Tamil Nadu, members of Congress and its local ally, the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), went on a rampage against opposing parties - particularly the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) which Congress directly accused of complicity with the Sri Lankan Tamil militants suspected of murdering [Rajiv] Gandhi. About 10 people were killed in rioting, and DMK and communist newspaper offices were pillaged.
