IRB – Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (Author)
No reports of a Lahore-based daily called Amroze could be found among the sources consulted by the Research Directorate. However, the Urdu-language daily Imroze is published in Lahore and Multan (Europa 1999 1999, 2750; Political Handbook of the World: 1999 1999, 748). Imroze, which is state-owned (ibid.), has a total circulation of about 70,000 (50,000 in Lahore and 20,000 in Multan) (ibid.; Europa 1999 1999, 2750).
Research Directorate efforts to contact the editorial offices of Imroze were unsuccessful within the time constraints of this Response.
This Response was prepared after researching publicly accessible information currently available to the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular claim to refugee status or asylum. Please find below the list of additional sources consulted in researching this Information Request.
