According to information provided by the
Senior Official Office (Oficina de Oficialía Mayor) of the
Congress of the State of Nuevo León during a 15 February
1999 telephone interview, the 67th Legislature of the Congress
ended on 14 October 1997, and the 68th legislature was installed on
15 October 1997.
The list of congress members in the 68th
Legislature, published in the Internet Website of the Congress of
the State of Nuevo Leon, groups them under the political banners of
the Partido de Acción Nacional (PAN), Partido Revolucionario
Institucional (PRI), Partido del Trabajo (PT), Partido de la
Revolución Democratica (PRD), and independents:

Please find attached a list of the deputies
of the 67th Legislature of the Congress of the State of Nuevo Leon
(1994-97), as provided by the Senior Official Office of the
Congress (17 Feb. 1999). The document first lists deputies elected
by simple majority in each electoral district (distrito),
naming also their congressional seat designated substitute
(suplente) and the substitute for congressional functions
(suplente en funciones), such as participation in
congressional committees. The document then lists deputies elected
through the system of proportional representation (diputados de
representación proporcional).
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is
not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any
particular claim to refugee status or asylum.
