Bomb Targets Afghan Military Personnel In Kabul

Afghan officials say a civilian was killed and several soldiers were injured when a bomb struck a military bus in Kabul.

The bomb struck the bus near a market in the capital's eastern area of Arzaan Keemat.

General Mohammad Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the Afghan Defense Ministry, said the bomb went off on October 27 as military personnel waited for a vehicle to take them to work.

He said five soldiers were wounded. The blast killed a young girl.

The Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Defense Ministry also said an Afghan soldier was killed and three policemen were injured by a roadside bomb in the western province of Herat.
