Reporters Without Borders condemns the acid attack on Parviz Safi, a cameramen for the state-owned English-language television station Press TV, by three unidentified men on 6 February in the Afghan capital, Kabul

The press freedom organization calls on the Afghan police to investigate and quickly identify and arrest the perpetrators.

The journalist suffered second-degree burns to his face but it missed his eyes and his life is not in danger.

The acid attack was the second of its kind on a journalist. On 18 January last year, Razaq Mamoon, who worked for several media organizations and presented a program on the independent television station Tolo TV, was sprayed with acid in a similar manner. He was seriously injured and is still receiving medical treatment abroad.
