Militants Attack Pakistani Police Station, Kill Four

Police in Pakistan say four officers have been killed in an assault by suicide attackers on a police station in the northwest city of Peshawar.
 
Upward of five other officers were reported injured in the early-morning attack on the station in central Peshawar.
 
Police said three attackers opened fire with automatic weapons and threw grenades before detonating their suicide vests.
 
The attack came one day after a car bomb explosion killed up to 15 people at an outdoor minibus terminal in Peshawar.
 
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for Friday's attack, but Islamist militants are suspected.
 
Peshawar is close to the border with Pakistan's tribal region, the main sanctuary for Al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters, and has been a frequent target of the militants.
