4 Killed In Kabul Suicide Attack

November 18, 2014

Afghan officials say at least four people were killed when a suicide bomber rammed a truck packed with explosives into the gate of a compound housing foreigners in Kabul.

Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said that two of the dead in the November 18 attack were security guards.

His deputy, Najib Danesh, said gunmen tried to breach the compound once the gate was destroyed.

He said the bodies of two of the attackers were later found at the site.

Afghan First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum, who was at the site soon after the blast, suggested the attackers had help from inside the government.

He said such attacks are staged with the help of people from "inside" the government structures who cooperate with Taliban militants.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said the attack was aimed at an intelligence center of foreign troops.
