According to David Laitin and Said Samatar (1987) Omar Mahamoud is a sub-clan of the Majerteen clan. [David D. Laitin and Said S. Samatar, Somalia: Nation in Search of a State, (Boulder: Westview Press Inc., 1987), p.32.] Although there is no information specifically regarding members of the Omar Mahamoud sub-clan currently available to the IRBDC, Response to previous Information Request Nos. SOM4276, on the Majerteen clan may prove helpful.
