Information on the procedure used by the Canada Post Corporation when processing letters from China [CAN10654]

Please find attached a section of the Canada Post Corporation Act regarding the "Inspection of Mail" and "Customs."

According to a representative of the Management of International Network Control at Canada Post in Ottawa, the Canada Post Corporation does not stamp any foreign mail for practical reasons, i. e., the number of letters coming from outside Canada is too great to effectively stamp every one of them (14 Apr. 1992).

Additional information on this subject is currently unavailable to the IRBDC in Ottawa.
