Sources consulted by the DIRB provide
information on Punjabi police/security forces casualties in October
1990.
Quoting the state police chief of Punjab, a
Delhi Domestic Service broadcast reported the murder of a police
constable by "terrorists" (30 Oct. 1990). Another Delhi Domestic
Service broadcast reported that in Punjab, "terrorists" had injured
an assistant sub-inspector of police and a Border Security Force
soldier (25 Oct. 1990).
Referring to a Press Trust of India report,
AFP reported the killing of 24 people, including two policemen in
Punjab (27 Oct. 1990).
