Russian Regional Lawmaker Flees Country To Protest War In Ukraine

A lawmaker in the southwest Russian city of Krasnodar has left the country to protest against Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Igor Azarov, 30, said on Telegram on November 10 that he is currently in Serbia, adding that he does not support the war in Ukraine and does not want to be mobilized to the armed forces to kill Ukrainians. Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February, many journalists, politicians, and activists have fled the country in protest at the war.
