Information on how the custody of children is determined when parents separate or divorce [UKR20368.E]

According to a representative of the Women's Study Centre in Kiev, custody of children is generally given to women (6 Apr. 1995). Even though there is a law on alimony and the family, she pointed out that there is no mechanism to force the ex-husband to support his child (ibid.).
