Update to GHA29654.E regarding conflicts between the Tijania and Al Sunna Muslim factions in the Wenchi district, especially in the village of Alhajikrom in June 2000 and state protection available [GHA37154.E]

No reports could be found on conflicts between the Tijania and Al Sunna Muslim factions in the Wenchi district, especially in the village of Alhajikrom in 2000, and on state protection available to the victims.

However, according to Country Reports 2000, "on July 21, three Muslims were injured at Effiduase (Eastern Region) in a clash between two Muslim sects over doctrinal differences. Members of the Tijanniya school of Islam allegedly attacked of the Al-Sunna School (2001).
