IRB – Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (Autor)
Please find attached documents that refer
to the situation of unions and unionists in Peru in 1996. Reports
on the subject for 1997 could not be found among the sources
consulted by the DIRB. A 1995 article from Latinamerica
Press is included because it discusses new labour legislation
that would have an impact on labour relations in 1996.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the DIRB within time constraints. This Response is not, and does
not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any particular
claim to refugee status or asylum.
