February 25, 2011
At least four people are reported to have been killed in an attack in northwestern Pakistan in which militants targeted tankers carrying fuel for NATO troops in neighboring Afghanistan.

At least 11 tankers were reported to have been set ablaze in the attack near Peshawar, capital of the Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Province.

Those killed in the attack are reported to have been drivers or assistants on the tanker missions.

Suspected Islamist militants have sometimes attacked fuel tankers and supply trucks in the region in a bid to disrupt the operations of foreign forces and their Afghan allies fighting Taliban militants in Afghanistan.
