Information on whether the child of Afghan refugees in Pakistan who was born in that country has the right to Afghan nationality [AFG12888]

According to a representative of the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C., children of Afghan parents or an Afghan parent are considered to be Afghan nationals regardless of their place of birth (21 Jan. 1993). The representative adds that Afghan diplomatic missions abroad issue birth certificates and passports to these children upon request of their parent(s). The government of Afghanistan also issues these documents to applicants in Afghanistan who were born in Pakistan.
