No information on the privatization of the
Kian Tire Factory could be found among the sources consulted by the
Research Directorate.
The following information was provided
during a 10 September 1998 telephone interview with an economics
professor who taught at the Department of Economics at Teheran
University between 1973 and 1983 and is currently at Denison
University in Granville, Ohio.
The professor has never heard of a strike
at the Kian Tire Manufacture in Tehran.
This Response was prepared after
researching publicly accessible information currently available to
the Research Directorate within time constraints. This Response is
not, and does not purport to be, conclusive as to the merit of any
