Three car bombings across Iraq have killed more than 50 people and wounded dozens.

The largest bombing took place in the Shi'ite-majority town of Al-Khales in the eastern Diyala Province.

Police said at least 32 people were killed and more than 50 were wounded when the car bomb tore through a commercial street.

Ten other people were killed and at least 25 wounded in another attack near a crowded market in the Shi'ite town of Al-Zubair, near the southern city of Basra.

In the capital, Baghdad, at least 12 people were killed and 25 wounded when a car bomb exploded in the northeastern neighborhood of Husseiniyah.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the blast near Basra.
