Al-Khiam Center for the Rehabilitation of the Victims of Torture is association established by Lebanese Ministry of Interior and Municipalities in 2000 and it has headquarters in Beirut. Its mission is to establish centers for medical, psychological and physical treatment and rehabilitation of persons who have rescued from the Israeli concentration camps of torture and to defend the human rights in general, and particularly resist the torture caused in the Israeli detention camps against Lebanese persons. On its website can be found information concerning Lebanese-Israeli conflict, in particular victims of Israeli attacks and bombings, detention and torture of Lebanese citizens including testimonies of some detainees, Human Rights in Lebanese prisons, etc. Language: English.
The Canadian Lebanese Human Rights Federation is a coalition of Canadian and Canadian-Lebanese volunteers devoted to advocate the human rights cause in Lebanon. The prime mandate of the Federation is to help the Lebanese people in Lebanon and in the Diaspora to be able to defend and practice their basic human rights without fear of persecution or discrimination. Helem - Lebanese Protection for Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgenders is a non-governmental non-profit organisation registered in Quebec, Canada since 2004. Helem leads a peaceful struggle for the liberation of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community in Lebanon from all sorts of legal, social and cultural discrimination. Its primary goal is the annulment of article 534 of the Lebanese Penal Code which punishes unnatural sexual intercourse. Of interest is mainly section Human Rights where can be found information about homosexuality in Lebanese society, Lebanese Law and Practice, as well as human rights reports concerning homosexuality from other sources.
