The Resource Center of the Americas (of which Americas.Org is a program) informs, educates and organizes to promote human rights, democratic participation, economic justice and cross-cultural understanding in the context of globalization in the Americas. Americas.org Ecuador contains selected news and commentaries (including some interesting news about marches, human rights abuses, killings, protests, police brutality, etc). Comisión Ecuménica de Derechos Humanos
Comision Ecumenica de Derechos Humanos (Ecumenical Commission for Human Rights, CEDHU)is part of FIDH - Federacion internacional de derechos humanos (International federation for human rights), it is a social organisation with a mission to protect human rights and to support a dignity of the people, it was created in 1978 and believes that exercise of human rights and social justice form a base for equitable development and social peace. On its website can be found news concerning human rights and its violations in Ecuador in part Archivo de noticias(News archive), where you can click on each month to obtain articles from that month. Furthermore, there is a section Ecuador es el pueblo, where are published blocks of articles and reports concerning the same topic (e.g. political repression in April 2005, report of Commission against torture about Ecuador, etc.). Finally, there is a section Temas clave(Main themes), where in part Justicia y derechos humanos(Justice and human rights) is analysis of administration of justice and impunity in Ecuador, then cases (most important cases that happened in Ecuador concerning illegal detention, impunity, disappearances, etc). Derechos Human Rights
Derechos Human Rights is an international internet-based organization with members in the United States, Latin America and Europe working, together with its sister NGO Equipo Nizkor, for the respect and promotion of human rights all over the world. It is carrying out hands-on projects of assistance to human rights NGOs, activists and victims of human rights or humanitarian law violations. Its current focus is Latin America. On its Ecuador website can be found human rights reports and articles and links to Human Rights Organisations in Ecuador, media of Ecuador and other websites concerning human rights. Inter–american Commission on Human Rights
Inter – american Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) is one of two bodies in the inter-American system for the promotion and protection of human rights. The Commission has its headquarters in Washington, D.C. The other human rights body is the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, which is located in San José, Costa Rica. The IACHR is an autonomous organ of the Organization of American States (OAS). Its mandate is found in the OAS Charter and the American Convention on Human Rights. It has the principal function of promoting the observance and the defense of human rights. On the website are published Annual Reports, which include Human Rights Development in the region (e.g. annual report 2005 contains whole chapter on Ecuador), then Special Reports (including Country reports), Press Releases (also on Ecuador, e.g. IACHR Expresses Concern for the Situation of Human Rights in Ecuador dated May 2006) and finally Cases (there are many cases from Ecuador concerning breaches of human rights). La Hora is a national newspaper based in Quito. Its website contains actual news from Ecuador, information about up-coming elections 2006, governmental plans, as well as local news from the capital Quito and other towns/regions of Ecuador. Language: Spanish.

Website of Indigenous People in Ecuador contains information about indigenous people living in Ecuador. Reports and articles about repression, uprising, elections, etc. that are in the website are a bit old (years 2000 and 1999), but the section Peoples of Ecuador provides good description of various groups of indigenous people living in coast, highlands and Amazon of Ecuador, including the map in which parts of Ecuador where their communities live are marked.
