Shi'ite Huthi rebels in Yemen say an air strike by a Saudi-led coalition killed more than 100 people and wounded more than 500 in the Huthi-controlled capital of the country.

A spokesman for the Huthi-run Health Ministry in Sanaa said the death toll from the October 8 attack was at least 100 and was likely to rise further.

He said the attack struck a crowded funeral for the father of the Huthi Interior Minister Jalal al-Rowaishan.

He did not say whether Rowaishan was present at the time of the attack.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition that is fighting in support of Yemen's internationally recognized but ousted government denied carrying out air strikes on a funeral in Sanaa.

The coalition said in a statement that it did not carry out any operations in the area on October 8 and that "other causes" for the deaths should be considered.
