Taliban Attacks Kill Six Police, Two Civilians In Afghanistan

October 14, 2014

Afghan officials say at least eight people have been killed in two separate attacks.

Six police officers were killed in an attack on a police post in Baraki district of Logar Province, south of Kabul, local officials said.

The Interior Ministry said two civilians were killed and three others injured in a roadside bombing in Kabul.

The ministry said the blast in the western part of the capital damaged a civilian vehicle.

Taliban militants claimed responsibility for the October 14 attacks.

They came a day after a battle in the northern province of Sar-e Pul that the governor said killed 23 militants and 14 Afghan security forces.
