Car Bomb In Kabul Kills 2 Contractors

The international military coalition in Afghanistan says a suicide attack has killed two NATO civilian contractors in the capital, Kabul.

The Islamic militant group Hizb-i Islami claimed responsibility for the February 10 attack in eastern Kabul.

Police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said the attacker slammed a car packed with explosives into a convoy near the Pol-i Charkhi prison.

He said at least seven Afghan civilians were wounded.

The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force later confirmed two civilian contractors were killed but gave no details.

Taliban militants have stepped up attacks in the final year of the international coalition's combat mission in Afghanistan.
