13 January 2017 - HRW publishes World Report 2017 and ACCORD publishes a report on Sri Lanka

Human Rights Watch published its annual World Report, covering events in 2016. ACCORD released a COI compilation on Sri Lanka. Read more

15 November 2016 - UNHCR’s online course on COI

UNHCR and ACCORD have developed an e-learning course on country of origin information (COI). The course is built around a case study, and takes the learner through some of the main questions on COI research methodology, including source assessment. The course also addresses the role of COI in asylum procedures. It takes about four hours to complete the course. The COI e-learning course is available for free at DisasterReady.org. Read more

15 November 2016 - EASO publishes 8 COI reports: on Afghanistan, Turkey and West Balkan countries

The European Asylum Support Office (EASO) has published an update of its COI report on the security situation in Afghanistan. EASO also published 6 country reports on West Balkan countries and one on Turkey. Read more
