"Also known as "Conference of the Iraqi Political Parties." A grouping of political parties established in June 2003. The grouping is led by a rotating general secretariat that includes personalities such as Aziz al-Yasiri, Mahran Hawas al-Sadid, Isma'il Ali Adday, Qasim al-Sa'idi, Fawzi Farman, William Ish'iyah, Wijdan Jawad al-Khuza'i, Mahmud al-Azzawi, and Muhammad Dia al-A'raji. The grouping's first conference that month was attended by 350 tribal, political, academic, and professional figures representing 33 groups, "Al-Zaman" reported on 18 June 2003. Its initial goals were to "develop the work of participant parties and personalities, set a mechanism to regulate relations with coalition forces in Iraq, and to discuss the demands of Iraqis, particularly with regard to dispensing salaries and generating employment opportunities," Voice of the Mujahedin radio reported on 16 June 2003."
